LUBUKLINGGAU – Klub futsal asal Kepulauan Bangka Belitung (Kep. Babel) Thorium FC telah menyelesaikan keilutsertaan mereka pada Liga Futsal Nusantara (LFN) Zona Sumatera 2023, yang dipertandingan 9-18 Juni 2023.
Mereka harus mengakhiri langkahnya menuju level nasional, atau 8 besar Liga Futsal Nusantara, karena pada klasemen akhir menduduki peringkat ketiga grup A (putra) di bawah Kinantan Futsal (juara grup), dan Sabiduak Sadayuang Kota Pariaman di posisi kedua.
Tim asuhan Eri Vaskal ini harus tunduk dari Sabiduak Sadayuang Kota Pariaman dengan skor 2-4 pada laga pamungkas, sekaligus perebutan posisi runner up di Taman Olah Raga Megang (TOM), Lubuklinggau, Sumatera Selatan, Sabtu (17/6/2023).
Perjuangan Thorium FC untuk mengharumkan nama Negeri Serumpun Sebalai ini diapresiasi oleh Gubernur Kep. Babel Suganda Pandapotan Pasaribu. Ia pun tetap memberikan dukungan moril kepada seluruh pemain, staf kepelatihan, maupun official.
Dirinya menyebutkan jika kegagalan tersebut bukan berarti menghentikan impian berkompetisi di level teratas. Justru katanya, pengalaman serta jam terbang tim menjadi modal penting, salah satunya mengasah mental bertanding, maupun memperkuat kesolidan tim dalam menerapkan taktik dari pelatih.
“Saya salut dengan semangat mereka. Dalam setiap turnamen memang prestasi yang ingin kita capai, tetapi lebih daripada itu ada yang tidak kalah pentingnya, yaitu mental. Kalian sudah berjuang membawa nama Bangka Belitung, kalian sudah luar biasa,” kata Pj Gubernur Suganda.
Lebih jauh, saat menjamu Thorium FC usai pertandingan di Restoran Nasi Bakar 88, Lubuklinggau, Pj Gubernur Suganda mengaku merasa bangga dengan setiap orang atau kelompok seperti yang ditunjukkan oleh Thorium FC yang memiliki keinginan kuat dalam membanggakan daerah.
“Mereka memberikan contoh bahwa Bangka Belitung memiliki potensi luar biasa seperti di bidang olahraga futsal ini. Sudah sepantasnya kita memberikan support untuk hal-hal positif seperti ini. Saya juga mengajak semua pihak untuk memberikan dukungan yang sama. Lambat laun prestasi akan kita bawa pulang,” katanya. (***)
