JAKARTA – Ketua Panitia Pelaksana Confederation of ASEAN Journalist (CAJ), Ahmed Kurnia Soeriawidjaja melakukan pertemuan dengan Direktur Jenderal Informasi Publik Kementrian Luar Negeri Teuku Faizasya di Jakarta, Jumat (8/10/2022).
Dalam pertemuan ini Ahmed Kurnia menyampaikan persiapan yang telah dilakukan oleh Persatuan Wartawan Indonesia sebagai tuan rumah Sidang Umum ke 20 Wartawan ASEAN yang akan dilaksanakan di Kuta, Bali dari 12 hingga 15 Oktober 2022
Ahmed menyampaikan bahwa persiapan Panitia Pusat dan Panitia lokal sudah sangat siap untuk menyambut para tamu Delegasi Wartawan ASEAN yang sudah mulai berdatangan pada awal pekan depan.
“PWI Pusat sengaja memilih Bali sebagai lokasi tuan rumah pelaksanaan Sidang Umum Wartawan ASEAN karena ini juga menjadi momentum bagi kita untuk menunjukan kepada dunia bahwa Bali sudah pulih pasca Pandemi Covid19,” kata Ahmed yang juga merupakan Ketua Bidang Luar Negeri PWI Pusat.
Mendengar hal itu, Direktur Jenderal Informasi dan Diplomasi Publik Kementrian Luar Negeri Teuku Faizasyah menyambut baik Indonesia menjadi tuan rumah Sidang Umum Wartawan ASEAN yang ke 20. Apalagi Persatuan Wartawan Indonesia sebagai pelaksananya.
“Saya berharap inilah saatnya bagi Wartawan Indonesia untuk menunjukan kepada Delegasi Wartawan ASEAN bahwa Indonesia bisa berperan besar untuk menjaga independensi serta berkomitmen bersama pemerintah, meskipun media juga sebagai fungsi kontrol tapi kita harus memiliki semangat bersama untuk menunjukan kepada negara lain bahwa Pemerintah Indonesia dan wartawan bisa bergandengan tangan menciptakan iklim yang baik dan damai bagi negara-negara di ASEAN,” kata mantan Duta Besar RI untuk Kanada dan Wakil Tetap RI untuk International Civil Aviation Organization ini.
Sementara, Agus Sudibyo yang juga Dewan Penasehat PWI Pusat mengatakan bahwa dalam Sidang Umum ke 20 Wartawan Asean ini akan di lakukan juga “Deklarasi Bali” setelah secara resmi Presiden Confederation of ASEAN Journalist diserahkan kepada Ketua Umum PWI Pusat Atal S Depari sebagai Presiden CAJ.
“Banyak hal yang bisa dikolaborasikan bersama. Apalagi nanti tahun 2023 Indonesia akan menjadi Ketua dari Negara Negara Asean. Tentu hal ini akan sangat menarik dan pas untuk bersinergi antara Presiden CAJ dan Ketua Negara ASEAN,” kata mantan Anggota Dewan Pers 2019 – 2022 ini.
Selain Ahmed Kurnia Soeriawijaja, Teuku Faizasya dan Agus Sudibyo, hadir juga dalam pertemuan ini, Hartyo Harkomoyo Direktur Informasi dan Media Kementrian Luar Negeri dan Mercys Charles Loho Direktur Komunikasi dan Public Reletion PWI Pusat. (***)
