JAKARTA – Calon Presiden Ganjar Pranowo menghadiri undangan PWI Pusat dalam rangkaian Hari Pers Nasional (HPN) 2024 dalam acara Dialog Capres-Cawapres dengan Persatuan Wartawan Indonesia (PWI) Pusat.
Kedatangannya disambut langsung oleh Ketua Umum PWI Pusat, Hendry Ch Bangun dan Sekretaris Jenderal PWI Pusat, Sayid Iskandarsyah di Gedung Dewan Pers, Kebon Sirih, Jakarta Pusat, Kamis (30/11/2023). Ganjar Pranowo dan rombongan tiba sekitar pukul jam 10.45 WIB.
Hadir juga jajaran petinggi PWI Pusat dan para pemimpin redaksi dari berbagai media massa.
Hendry Ch Bangun mengatakan, PWI Pusat mengundang seluruh Capres dan Cawapres dalam rangkaian HPN 2024. Saat ini, capres Ganjar Pranowo yang pertama cepat tanggap merespon undangan PWI Pusat.
“Capres nomor tiga cepat tanggap, sehingga mendapatkan kesempatan yang pertama,” kata Hendry Ch Bangun di ruang utama PWI Pusat.
Di hari ketiga kampanyenya ini, Ganjar mengatakan, sangat senang mendapat kesempatan untuk bisa hadir bertemu dan berdialog langsung dengan PWI yang diisi oleh banyak wartawan senior dan junior. Mantan Gubernur Jawa Tengah ini menyampaikan, peran pers sangat penting dalam menyampaikan informasi ke publik secara tepat dan benar.
“Saat ini saya membagi media menjadi dua kelompok. Media sosial dan media mainstream. Media sosial menginformasikan tanpa etika jurnalistik dan terpotong-potong sehingga informasi yang sampai menjadi bengkok. Media mainstream inilah yang harus meluruskan informasi yang bengkok itu kepada masyarakat dengan baik dan benar,” kata Ganjar Pranowo.
“Karena itu saya senang diundang kesini (PWI). Agar kedepannya informasi dapat disampaikan dengan utuh dan benar. Contoh saja, saya habis dari Papua, ternyata di sana ada gap informasi yang tidak tersampaikan. Anak muda di sana belum tahu siapa capres dan cawapres yang akan ikut pemilu 2024 dan bahkan belum tahu ada berapa kandidat,”
“Saya sendiri mereka belum kenal. Inilah tugas media untuk bisa menyampaikan informasi secara menyeluruh sampai ke pelosok,” sambung capres pasangan dari cawapres Mahfud MD ini.
Ganjar Pranowo juga sepakat dengan pernyataan bahwa Pers saat ini sedang tidak baik-baik saja. Terutama dari sektor bisnis yang mengalami banyak perubahan dari media konvensional menuju media digital.
“Iya, memang saat ini Pers sedang tidak baik-baik saja. Satu dari sektor bisnisnya yang mengalami perubahan dari konvensional ke era digital. Inilah yang memang harus terus diperhatikan dan pemerintah perlu membantu pers agar bisa baik,”ungkapnya.
Ganjar Pranowo berharap PWI kedepan dapat terus melakukan pembenahan lebih baik lagi sesuai dengan bidangnya. Terutama meminimalisir perangkat desa atau orang yang berada dalam organisasi masyarakat (Ormas) menjadi wartawan.
“Saya mengalami ada perangkat desa atau ormas jadi wartawan. Lha ini motifnya apa? Saya mengadu ke siapa? Inilah nantinya yang kiranya akan bisa diperbaiki oleh PWI,” tandas Ganjar Pranowo. (rel)
