MANOKWARI – Seorang wartawan senior di Manokwari yang juga sebagai Sekretaris PWI Papua Barat, Mathias Reyaan mendapatkan perlakuan penganiayaan saat bertugas meliput kebakaran di Pasar Wosi, Selasa (6/6/2023) dini hari.
Ketua PWI Papua Barat, Bustam saat mendampingi membuat laporan polisi (LP) di Polresta Manokwari, Selasa (6/6/2023) siang menerangkan, selain mengalami tindakan pemukulan beramai-ramai, korban juga mengalami perampasan handphone serta uang tunai Rp10 juta lebih.
Uang itu disebut Bustam merupakan uang iklan untuk beberapa media yang kebetulan dipercayakan ke korban.
“Sebenarnya korban ingin menaruh uang itu di jok motor. Tapi karena khawatir jok motornya dicungkil, akhirnya diikat di bagian pinggul saja,” ungkap Bustam.
Bustam juga menjawab isu mengenai korban dipukuli akibat tindakannya meliput terlalu dekat dengan TKP kebakaran.
Dalam posisi dipukul, korban sempat mengeluarkan kartu pers. Kartu itu menyelematkan korban dari tindakan pemukulan lebih sejumlah orang.
“Pas keluarkan kartu pers itu ada yang melerai dari petugas damkar,” jelasnya.
Akibat pemukulan, korban menerima sejumlah luka memar di bagian kepala badan depan dan belakang.
Diakui Bustam, pelaporan di SPKT demi mendapatkan rekomendasi visum ke RSUD Manokwari.
“Sempat meminta visum tapi ditolak karena tidak punya surat dari sini (Polresta Manokwari),” jelas Bustam.
Disisi lain ia meminta Polresta Manokwari menindaklanjuti kejadian tidak mengenakkan yang dialami M.
“Sebab korban dalam keadaan meliput (bekerja),yang tentunya dilindungi oleh UU Pers,” pungkasnya. (**)
