HIROSIMA dan Nagasaki, dua kota penting di Jepang luluh lantak oleh bom atom Amerika Serikat. Tak lama berselang Kekaisan Jepang menyerah kepada Sekutu di penghujung Perang Dunia II.
Dikutip dari bbc.com, korban di Hiroshima, jumlahnya sekitar 140.000 dari 350.000 penduduk, sedangkan di Nagasaki, setidaknya 74.000 orang meninggal dalam insiden itu.
Pengeboman itu mengakhiri perang dunia secara tiba-tiba di Asia, dengan Jepang menyerah kepada Sekutu pada 14 Agustus 1945.
Mengutip sindonews.com, respon Kaisar Hirohito yang pertama atas peristiwa kelam ini sungguh mengejutkan banyak pihak.
Kaisar Jepang ke-142 yang dikenal dengan nama anumerta Kaisar Showa, kepada para pembantunya bertanya, “Berapa jumlah guru yang tersisa?”
Sekali lagi! Kata-kata ini berasal dari mulut Kaisar Hirohito sebagai respon pertama yang Ia keluarkan setelah mendengar berita luluh lantaknya Hiroshima dan Nagasaki.
Kehancuran dua kota itu pula yang menjadi alasan Kaisar Jepang menyelamatkan guru setelah Perang Dunia 2.
Ketika mendengar berita pemboman tersebut, Kaisar Hirohito selaku pemimpin tertinggi Jepang pada saat itu langsung mengumpulkan para Jenderal yang tersisa.
Pertanyaan mengenai jumlah guru yang tersisa ini lantas membuat bingung para Jenderal. Sebab, semula mereka mengira sang Kaisar akan menanyakan perihal tentara, alih-alih guru yang masih tersisa.
Para Jenderal tersebut kemudian menegaskan kepada Kaisar Hirohito, bahwa mereka masih bisa menyelamatkan dan melindungi Kaisar, walau tanpa kehadiran para guru.
Menanggapi perkataan ini, Kaisar Hirohito mengatakan bahwa Jepang telah jatuh. Kejatuhan ini dikarenakan mereka tidak belajar. Jenderal dan tentara Jepang boleh jadi kuat dalam senjata dan strategi perang, tetapi tidak memiliki pengetahuan mengenai bom yang telah dijatuhkan Amerika.
Kaisar Hirohito kemudian menambahkan bahwa Jepang tidak akan bisa mengejar Amerika jika tidak belajar. Karenanya, ia kemudian mengimbau pada para Jenderalnya untuk mengumpulkan seluruh guru yang tersisa di seluruh pelosok Jepang.
Sebab, kepada para gurulah seluruh rakyat Jepang kini harus bertumpu, bukan pada kekuatan pasukan.
Kaisar Hirohito kemudian bergerak untuk mengumpulkan sekitar 45.000 guru yang tersisa pada saat itu dan memberi mereka arahan.
Kehadiran guru pada saat itu manjadi hal krusial bagi seluruh lapisan masyarakat Jepang. Karenanya, perlahan negara ini dapat kembali bangkit dari keterpurukan.
Dan hari ini kita bisa menyaksikan bagimana Jepang menjadi negara modern yang sangat diperhitungkan di dunia.
Pengembangan SDM (Sumber Daya Manusia) ini pula yang menjadi fokus Penjabat Gubernur Kepulauan Bangka Belitung, Ridwan Djamaluddin.
Hal ini diungkapkannya ketika berdialog dengan sejumlah wartawan yang tergabung dengan PWI Provinsi Kepulauan Bangka Belitung, Aji Pangkalpinang, PFI Pangkalpinang dan organisasi perusahaan media siber JMSI Babel, di Pangkalpinang, Selasa malam (27/9/2022).
Masa kepemimpinannya yang singkat Ridwan sebagai Pj Gubernur, akan menitik beratkan pada pengembangan SDM.
Agar Babel maju sesuai cita-cita, SDM menjadi syarat utama. “Dalam hal pengembangan SDM ini, khususnya anak-anak muda, saya berharap kawan-kawan awak media, pengusaha media ini membantu saya. Bukan untuk kepentingan apa-apa, biar negeri ini maju,” katanya.
Kita bisa melihat betapa Hirohito sangat mementingkan membangun SDM. Begitu pula Ridwan yang berkomitmen terhadap peningkatan kualitas SDM.
Kita patut mengapresiasi langkah yang diambil Ridwan Djamaluddin yang punya konsen akan pengembangan SDM Babel.
Kunci pembangunan SDM tersebut adalah Guru. Ya, sekali lagi Guru. Pertanyaannya, sudah sejauh mana perhatian kita terhadap para guru di Provinsi Kepulauan Bangka Belitung? Mulai dari Guru level TK, SD, SMP, SMA dan seterusnya.
Harus kita akui, apalagi guru yang mengajar di sekolah swasta tertentu di semua level nasib mereka belumlah baik-baik amat, terutama menyangkut kesejahteraan mereka.
Maka, pengembangan SDM rasanya akan sulit dilakukan jika perhatian terhadap guru di semua level pendidikan masih minim. Baik menyangkut peningkatan kualitas guru itu sendiri, maupun kesejahteraannya. (*)
