PANGKALPINANG – Istri Penjabat (Pj) Gubernur Kepulauan Bangka Belitung (Babel), Sri Utami Soedarsono Ridwan Djamaluddin mengungkapkan niatnya atas beberapa hal yang ingin ia lakukan saat menjadi istri orang nomor satu di Babel. Salah satunya membuat standarisasi pendidikan bagi anak-anak disabilitas.
“Program pendidikan terhadap Anak Berkebutuhan Khusus (ABK) atau disabilitas harus memiliki standar khusus, tidak bisa disamakan programnya, karena anak-anak ini adalah anak-anak unik dengan keterbatasan yang sangat berbeda,” ungkap Ibu Pj Gubernur dalam sambutannya di acara Silaturahmi bersama Kepala Cabang Dinas Pendidikan, Kepala Sekolah SMA/SMK/SLB dan Pengawas Sekolah se-Provinsi Kepulauan Bangka Belitung di Gedung Mahligai, Kediaman Dinas Gubernur, Rabu (25/5/22).
Oleh karenanya, Ibu Tami, begitu ia biasa disapa menyoroti akan pentingnya penanganan anak-anak disabilitas, baik di sekolah inklusi maupun di SLB. Sekolah inklusi sendiri merupakan sekolah reguler seperti SMA/SMK yang memberikan pendidikan khusus bagi anak-anak disabilitas.
“Jadi bapak/ibu, jadi guru itu adalah tempat kita belajar, dan anak-anak disabilitas itulah tempat kita belajar, dan setiap hari saya belajar dari mereka,” ujar istri Pj Gubernur yang saat ini juga menjabat sebagai Kepala SLB di Sekolah Transisi Pelita Hati.
Ia menjelaskan, dari 50 persen para orang tua yang memiliki ABK, telah bercerai. Sehingga peran ibu dalam hal ini memiliki beban yang lebih berat, sehingga berdasarkan pengalamannya, peran para guru sangat penting untuk mendukung peran orang tua karena beratnya memiliki anak dengan kebutuhan khusus.
“Pada tahun 2003, saya berhasil membawa murid saya yang bernama Doni, dari sekolah inklusi ke sekolah reguler, dan pada bulan Maret 2021 kemarin, mamanya Doni telepon dan mengundang saya untuk hadir di wisuda Doni dari Fakultas Teknik Fisika Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB), dan disitu saya langsung sujud syukur,” ceritanya.
“Hal ini yang membuat saya mengurungkan niat untuk menutup sekolah saya pada Juni 2021. Saya pikir ini hidayah dari Allah SWT, karena akan ada Doni lain yang akan saya bantu,” lanjutnya.
Kemudian, ada lagi orang tua murid yang menelepon dan mengabarkan anaknya diterima di kampus ternama lainnya. Hal ini meyakininya bahwa yang terpenting itu adalah usaha dan tawakal.
“Jadi, saya meyakini dengan hati besar dan mengatakan bahwa lulusan SLB bisa lulus di ITB loh. Jadi teman-teman Kepala Sekolah SLB, jangan gentar, semangat, kita pasti bisa!,” semangatnya.
Ia berharap, guru SMK/SMA bisa menjadi pendidik di sekolah inklusi bagi anak-anak dengan tuna netra, tuna rungu, tuna daksa, dan autisme, dengan persiapan satu tahun. Tahap awal adalah mempelajari bahasa isyarat. Inilah yang disebut sebagai peningkatan. Karena pada dasarnya anak-anak dengan kebutuhan khusus akan berbeda penanganannya.
Untuk itu, ia menganggap penting untuk dilakukan pendataan anak-anak disabilitas yang ada di jenjang SMA dan SMK, serta berdiskusi cara penanggulanganya secara kolaborasi dan sinergitas.
Dalam hal ini, peran pemerintah akan membantu mereka dalam hal pengembangan, dengan melakukan penilaian kepada anak-anak disabilitas sehingga dapa membantu mereka untuk bisa belajar atau mengambil manfaat dari ilmu yang kita berikan. (dini)
