Ketua PWI Babel, Muhammad Fakhturahman, menyesalkan sikap arogansi yang ditunjukan pihak keamanan Transmart terhadap sejumlah awak media.
Sebab menurut Boy, upaya menghalang halangi, intimidasi dan persekusi terhadap kinerja seorang jurnalis yang sedang menjalankan tugas bida dikenakan pidana sebagaimana diatur dalam Pasal 18 ayat (1) Undang-Undang Nomor 40 Tahun 1999 Tentang Pers.
“Menghalangi wartawan atau jurnalis pada saat menjalankan tugasnya dapat dipidana. Bagi seseorang yang dengan sengaja menghalangi wartawan menjalankan tugasnya dalam mencari, memperoleh dan menyebarluaskan informasi dapat dikenakan pidana sebagaimana di atur dalam Pasal 18 ayat (1) Undang-Undang Nomor 40 Tahun 1999 Tentang Pers,” kata Boy, Senin malam (19/6/2023), melalui keterqngan tertulis.
“Dengan demikian, seseorang yang dengan sengaja menghambat dan menghalangi tugas wartawan otomatis melanggar ketentuan pasal tersebut dapat diancam pidana penjara paling lama 2 tahun atau denda paling banyak 500 juta rupiah,” tambahnya.
Menurut Boy, apapun dalilnya upaya intimidasi dan persekusi terhadap jurnalis tidak dibenarkan. Sebab kehadiran dan tugas pokok jurnalis memenuhi hak publik, untuk mengakses informasi secara transparan dan berimbang.
Senada, Wakil ketua bidang Advokasi dan Pembelaan Wartawan PWI Babel, Anthoni Ramli, juga menyayangkan sikap arogansi pihak manajemen Transmart.
Sejatinya kata Anthoni, manajemen Transmart harusnya tidak alergi dan welcome terhadap awak media.
Sebab kedatangan mereka membawa tugas mulia yakni memberikan ruang seluas luasnya bagi manajemen untuk meluruskan mengklarifikasi insiden ambruknya plafon yang sempat viral tersebut.
“Mereka (wartawan? datang membawa misi dan tugas mulia memberikan ruang dan akses seluas luasnya untuk manajemen menyampaikan insiden sebenarnya supaya informasinya tidak simpang siur. Jadi harunya diapresiasi bukan malah sebaliknya,” kata Anthoni.
Dilansir Suarapos.com sebelumnya, tiga wartawan mengaku mendapat intimidasi dari oknum satpam Transmart ketika meliput ambrolnya plafon Transfor berita, Senin siang (19/6/2023)
Keiganya Eji Adino Dika dari TVRI Babel, Rama Nuasa (HeloBerita) dan Arya Ramandanu (Laspela) mendatangi Transmart Pangkalpinang di Jalan Jenderal Sudirman, sekitar Pukul 13.38 WIB. Tujuannya untuk meliput peristiwa ambrolnya plafon gedung itu.
Namun justru mereka mendapatkan perlakuan yang kurang menyenagkan. Satpam atau Sekuruti meminta mereka tidak mengkonfirmasi lejadian kepihak atasannya. (*)
