Catatan Ilham Bintang
Cendekiawan Muslim, Professor Azyumardi Azra, terpapar virus Covid-19. Virus itu baru diketahui bersarang di tubuhnya saat ditangani di RS Serdang, Malaysia, Jumat (16/9) petang.
Azyumardi mendadak terserang batuk keras, panjang, disertai sesak nafas di atas pesawat dalam penerbangan ke Malaysia, sore itu.
Dari Bandara Azyumardi langsung dilarikan ke RS Serdang, Selangor, Malaysia yang berjarak 35 km dari Kuala Lumpur.
“Semalam sudah dalam penanganan intensif tim medis RS Serdang ” kata Datuk Zakaria A. Wahab, wartawan senior, mantan Pemred Kantor Berita Bernama Malaysia dan Penasihat/Pendiri ISWAMI ( Ikatan Setiakawan Wartawan Malaysia -Indonesia).
Tidak lama setelah pecah kabar Prof Azyumardi terserang sakit di seluruh grup WhatsApp wartawan Indonesia dan Malaysia, kami meminta bantuan rekan wartawan di Malaysia untuk ikut memantau. Zakaria wartawan pertama yang merapat di Di RS Serdang. Zakaria bertemu Dubes RI untuk Malaysia, Hermono. “Saya sendiri ada bertanya doktor di ruang terbuka, mengesahkan Prof AA dijangkiti covid dan tidak boleh diziarahi, ” tambah Zack, panggilan akrab Zakaria. Sejak semalam Prof Azyumardi sudah dalam pemantauan KBRI di sana.
Ketua Dewan Pers itu awal minggu ini mengadakan kunjungan kerja di Sumatera Barat. Ia sempat ke Bukittinggi dan mengunjungi keluarganya di Batusangkar sebelum bertolak ke Malaysia melalui Jakarta. Hari Sabtu ini, sedianya mantan Rektor UIN tersebut jadi salah satu pembicara dalam seminar internasional di Selangor bersama tokoh penting Malaysia, Anwar Ibrahim.
Saksi mata dalam penerbangan adalah Guru Besar Universitas Sumatera Utara Professor Budi Agustono. Ia dan istri sama-sama berangkat dari Bandara Soekarno Hatta dengan Azyumardi. Mereka sempat ngobrol sejak di bandara hingga di dalam pesawat. Semalam Budi membagi kejadian yang dilihatnya di dalam pesawat di grup WhatsApp wartawan.
“Dua puluh menit sebelum pesawat mendarat, saat saya, istri dan Pak Azra sedang bercakap tiba tiba Pak Azra batuk tanpa henti, tubuhnya berkeringat dingin. Saya minta dia minum air mineral. Saya memijat tubuhnya yang keringat dingin lalu meminta pramugari memasang selang oksigen di hidung dan mulut. Meski selang terpasang sesak nafasnya tak berhenti, malah tubuhnya bergerak ke kiri ke kanan di atas kursi pesawat.
Ketika pesawat parkir dan pintu pesawat dibuka menurunkan penumpang, saya dan istri mengurus kesehatan Pak Azra yang diminta turun belakangan. Saya dan istri gelisah dan cemas melihat kesehatan Pak Azra. Tidak lama sesudah itu kami bertiga turun dengan selang oksigen dan dibawa segera ke bed panjang perawatan lalu dilarikan ambulance ke rumah sakit. Saya sempat merogoh tas tenteng Pak Azra mencari telepon, tapi karena bingung dan panik lambat ketemunya. Akhirnya istri saya menelpon temannya staf khusus Menteri Sosial meminta bantuan mengabarkan ke istri atau keluarga Pak Azra.
Saya sampaikan ke istri antar dan temani Pak Azra demi keselamatan dan keamanan. Kita bantu sekuat kita ke RS di Kuala Lumpur.Istri saya, Reni Sitawati Siregar, mengantarkan hingga ke dalam ambulance untuk dilarikan ke rumah sakit, sedangkan saya urus imigrasi di Bandara,” kisah Prof Budi Agustono.
Tanpa Swab
Indonesia, seperti halnya Malaysia telah menghapus keharusan Swab Antigen/ PCR untuk perjalanan luar negeri. Kondisi itu membuat penumpang pesawat yang terpapar Covid-19 dalam kategori orang tanpa gejala ( OTG) sulit terdeteksi. Baru seminggu lalu, Pemerintah Malaysia menghapuskan larangan memakai masker di dalam ruangan.
Saya mengenal Prof Azyumardi cukup lama. Ia pernah menjadi Wartawan Panji Masyarakat (1979-1985). Kesamaan isu atau topik yang kami bahas dalam tulisan masing- masing semakin mengeratkan hubungan.
Semasa pandemi Covid-19 kami intens berkomunikasi. Usia kami sama-rentan terpapar Covid-19, sehingga pemerintah mengatur sebaiknya beraktivitas dari rumah saja. Suatu hari di tahun lalu, anak cucunya tertular Covid-19. Ia mengontak saya minta dicarikan Ivermectin, obat cacing yang terkenal itu. Yang dipercaya sebagian masyarakat bisa melawan virus Covid-19 meski dilarang pemerintah untuk digunakan menyembuhkan Covid-19.
Masa itu, obat tersebut sangat sulit mencarinya, harganya di pasaran ikut dimainkan karena diburu banyak orang. Kebetulan saya memiliki stok, maka saya kirimlah ke beliau.
” Alhamdulillah, anak cucu berangsur baik, sudah keluar keringat. Terima kasih Pak Ilham,” ucapnya.
Komunikasi semakin intens sejak pria kelahiran 67 tahun lalu itu ditetapkan sebagai Ketua Dewan Pers. Begitu menjabat kasus di dunia pers terus meningkat, membuatnya praktis sejak itu siang malam beraktivitas. Masalah yang paling menyedot perhatiannya adalah RUU KUHP yang mengancam kemerdekaan pers. Ia terjun langsung menghadiri Rapat Dengar Pendapat (RDP) dengan Komisi I DPR-RI.
Kolumnis yang sangat produktif itu sering mengirimi saya link tulisannya membahas pelbagai topik di berbagai media kemudian kita bahas bersama. Demikian sebaliknya.
Rabu ( 14/9) lalu kami masih bertegur sapa. Hari itu beliau sedang berada di Padang, Sumatera Barat. Saya ketahui dari fotonya ketika bersama wartawan Sumbar menghadiri jamuan makan siang Gubernur Sumbar, Buya Mahyeldi Ansharullah.
Foto saya peroleh dari rekan Zulnadi, wartawan senior Pemred Semangat.com di Padang yang hadir dalam jamuan itu. Foto itu kemudian saya forward ke beliau. Seperti biasa dia pun merespons cepat di WA. “Terima kasih Pak Ilham. Kolomnya ditunggu,” ucapnya. Dalam kunjungannya di Sumatera Barat, Azyumardi sempat ke Bukit Tinggi dan mengunjungi keluarganya di Batu Sangkar. Kuat dugaan lantaran kecapean melakukan perjalanan dinas yang membuat kondisinya drop dan dengan mudah diserang virus Covid-19 yang secara obyektif sebenarnya penyebarannya sudah menurun di Indonesia dan di berbagai belahan dunia.

Azyumardi Azra, M.Phil., M.A., CBE dikenal luas sebagai cendekiawan muslim.Pada tahun 2010, dia memperoleh titel Commander of the Order of British Empire, sebuah gelar kehormatan dari Kerajaan Inggris dan menjadi ‘Sir’ pertama dari Indonesia. Pada 2022, Azyumardi terpilih menjadi Ketua Dewan Pers periode 2022-2025.
Saya dikirimi foto sewaktu ia mengenakan selang oksigen masih di dalam pesawat hingga foto ia dirawat di ruang di ICU RS. Doa kami untuk kesembuhanmu segera Prof. Semoga Allah SWT segera mengabulkannya dengan memberi kesembuhan kepada cendekiawan penting Indonesia yang berpembawaan humble namun sangat kritis itu. Have you ever considered about including a little bit more than just your articles? I mean, what you say is fundamental and all. However think about if you added some great photos or video clips to give your posts more, “pop”!
