UKW PWI Babel Angkatan X, 19 Wartawan Dinyatakan Kompeten, Prof Rajab: Jaga Kode Etik Anda!

TANJUNGPANDAN –  Pelaksanaan Uji Kopetensi Wartawan (UKW) PWI Bangka Belitung angkatan ke -X berlangsung di Gedung Nasional Tanjungpandan Kabupaten Belitung,  resmi ditutup, Kamis (6/7/2023). Sebanyak 19 peserta dinyatakan kompeten, dua peserta belum kompeten.

Koordinator penguji UKW angkatan X PWI Bangka Belitung, Prof Dr Rajab Rintonga mengatakan, sebanyak 23 orang peserta yang mendaftar. Dari jumlah tersebut hanya 21 yang peseta hadir dengan rincian 11 peserta jenjang muda, 6 madya dan 4 utama.

“Sebanyak 19 wartawan kompeten, dua belum kompeten. Ini menunjukan peserta yang mengikuti UKW tidak 100 persen lulus,” ujar mantan Direktur UKW PWI Pusat, Prof Rajab.

Dia menegaskan dalam penyelengaraan UKW PWI,  penguji sangat serius dan profesional dalam memberikan penilaian pada setiap mata uji.

“Penguji mengedepankan sikap profesionalisme dalam memberikan penilaian. Penguji tidak pandang bulu dan tidak memandang kedekatan dengan peserta,” tegasnya

“Penguji memandang profesionalisme wartawan. Jadi bagi teman – teman yang belum kompeten dapat mencari referensi agar dapat ikut kembali pada UKW berikutnya,” sambung Dosen Universitas Guna Darma tersebut.

Dia juga mengingatkan ada kode etik penguji yang tidak boleh dilanggar salah satunya memberikan bocoran terhadap peserta yang tidak lulus dalam UKW.

“Penguji juga tidak boleh mengumumkan siapa yang tidak kompeten karena terikat dengan aturan,” jelasnya.

Prof Rajab berpesan kepada wartawan yang telah kompeten baik di jenjang muda, madya apalagi jenjang utama hendaknya selalu menjaga kode etik jurnalistik dalam menjalankan tugas.

“Yang sudah kompeten jaga kode etik anda, patuhlah pada kode etik. Poinnya kita menetapkan integritas kewartawanan,” terangnya

“Wartawan harus menjaga kode etik, banyak cara wartawan menghasilkan uang dengan cara terhormat seperti menulis buku, mengadakan seminar nasional,” tutup Prof Rajab.

Sementara Ketua PWI Kepulauan Bangka Belitung, M. Fahturakhman melalui Sekretaris PWI, Fakhruddin Halim mengapresiasi kerja keras pengurus PWI Kabupaten Belitung dalam mensukseskan UKW Ke-X PWI Bangka Belitung. Kemudian secara resmi UKW X ditutup.
