PANGKALPINANG – Rangkaian Peringatan Hari Jadi Provinsi Kepulauan Bangka Belitung (Kep. Babel) tahun ini kembali menghadirkan event olahraga bertaraf nasional.
Babel Run yang merupakan giat rutin yang diselenggarakan oleh Pemprov Kep. Babel melalui Dinas Pariwisata Kebudayaan dan Kepemudaan Olahraga (Disparbudkepora), mendapatkan antusias tertinggi sepanjang sejarah perhelatannya, 5162 peserta tercatat dalam daftar partisipasi peserta yang terbagi dalam 5 kategori.
Kelima Kategori dimaksud ialah kategori 10K elit (atlet) putra dan putri, 10K umum di bawah usia 40 tahun, 10K umum di atas usia 40 tahun, 10K Kategori TNI/Polri dan ASN, serta 5K kategori pelajar SD putra dan putri. Memperebutkan total hadiah senilai 207 juta rupiah, Babel Run 2023 dipadati ribuan peserta yang tetap antusias meski diguyur hujan.
Sekretaris Daerah (Sekda) Kep. Babel, Naziarto bersama Asisten Administrasi Umum Pemprov Kep. Babel, Yunan Helmi berkesempatan melepas peserta di garis start, tepatnya di titik 0 kilometer Pangkalpinang, Sabtu (25/11/2023).
Selang waktu tak begitu lama, para pelari yang juga berasal dari kalangan atlet luar daerah Kep.Babel terlihat berdatangan menyentuh garis Finis di depan Kantor BRI Pangkalpinang. Robi Sianturi, atlet Sea Games Indonesia asal Kep. Babel berhasil mencatatkan waktu tercepat dan Finish pertama pada kategori 10K elit (atlet) putra serta berhak menerima hadiah senilai 10 juta rupiah, diikuti Odekta Elvina yang merupakan atlet pelatnas asal DKI Jakarta sebagai Finisher pertama di kategori putri, serta diikuti Finisher pada kategori lainnya.
Turut hadir dalam penyerahan medali dan hadiah bagi para juara, Penjabat (Pj) Gubernur Kep. Babel, Safrizal ZA yang juga tetap antusias berhujan ria bersama para pemenang.
Ia mengucapkan selamat kepada para pemenang, sekaligus memberikan semangat kepada peserta lain yang belum berhasil mendapat juara.
“Selamat kepada para pemenang, dan yang belum menang coba lagi di tahun depan, tahun depan hadiahnya akan lebih dari tahun ini. Tetap semangat,” ucap Pj Gubernur Safrizal.
Sementara itu, Kepala Bidang (Kabid) Olahraga Disparbudkepora Kep. Babel, Harun menyampaikan bahwa Babel Run 2023 sukses terselenggara atas partisipasi yang tinggi dari para atlet dan masyarakat. Sementara dirinya juga beranggapan bahwa pada penyelenggaraan Babel Run 2023 ini juga terjaring nama-nama atlet potensial yang diharapkan mampu menjadi penerus atlet berprestasi di Kep.Babel.
“Alhamdulillah, Pelaksanaan Babel Run 2023 tetap meriah dan mendapat antusiasme tinggi meski diguyur hujan, bahkan jumlah peserta yang terdaftar tahun ini merupakan jumlah terbanyak dibandingkan tahun-tahun sebelumnya. Kita juga melihat di Babel Run 2023 ini terjaring atlet potensial, khususnya jarak menengah jauh yang kedepannya dapat memberikan prestasi terbaik untuk Kep. Babel di kancah nasional maupun internasional,” ucap Harun.
Sejumlah peserta juga turut berkomentar terkait Babel Run 2023 yang dianggap sukses dalam penyelenggaraannya. Eza dan Ezi atlet kembar debutan di kategori 5K pelajar SD yang berhasil Finish perdana menyampaikan rasa senangnya bisa turut berpartisipasi.
“Alhamdulillah, bisa turut berpartisipasi, senang karena ini pertama kali, acaranya sukses dan kita semua senang,” ucap Eza sembari terengah usai berhasil sampai di garis finish. (***)
